The Prairie Hotel’s award-winning cuisine can be enjoyed far beyond the hotel restaurant. In fact, we can take our unique Australian native cuisine almost anywhere in the Outback…

Consider dining in an historic wool shed or blacksmith shop at Nilpena Station for a special occasion? Or sipping champagne and feasting on new flavours as the sun sets over red sand dunes or perhaps a traditional bush barbecue, with a native Australian difference?

It’s an excellent way to entertain special guests, celebrate a special occasion or as a memorable event at the end of a tour.

The cuisine

The Prairie Hotel is famous for its delicious and creative menu of Australian native and Flinders Feral foods with an emphasis on local seasonal produce.

Emu egg frittata, kangaroo stir fry, a feral mixed grill with camel sausage, roo chop and wallaby shaslick,  native mango chutney, wattle seed wafers with dips, are all seasonal selections from our famous menu. Or try our own wattleseed pavlova or apple and quandong pie.

We can cater for a full dinner function or prepare a selection of finger foods to taste while enjoying an outback sunset watching the sunset with a small group of friends. Vegetarians are well catered for.

Marquee, indoor or outdoor, tables, chairs, bar facilities, all cutlery, glass ware, table ware and service can be provided …and hampers prepared for you as well.
