The evening promises to delight and entertain with highlights from the 2008 national SHORTS Film Festival, and Rushes Soho Shorts, the UK’s leading short film festival.

The Prairie Hotel was recently featured in the UK Sunday Times 6th May 2007 as one of 12 STAR BARS of the World according to journalist Rob Ryan "...this place is always full of interesting characters, many of them from nearby (that's a relative term) mining towns. The Prairie is the classic, friendly, low-rise, tall-taletelling outback pub..." After the successful kitchen renovation the blokes couldn’t stop, so the Outback Backyard Blitz extended into the paddock!!

The north area of the Hotel has now been landscaped as a great sunset beer o’clock area, and there is a permanent marquee for weddings, parties, anything "Under Vinyl".

The original wood stove & slate floor from the old kitchen has now been laid to rest as an outdoor barbecue, taking pride of place under a gum tree near the marquee.
