Join our Prairie family from mid July 2024, we are seeking highly motivated, energetic & hard working team members. The Prairie offers a social working environment whilst providing the opportunity to explore our amazing backyard and experience all the Flinders Ranges has to offer.


The role

As a team member, your personality, attitude, and style leave a lasting impression of ‘The Prairie’ with our guests, suppliers, and the community. Every staff member is the face of ‘The Prairie’ and an ambassador. 

Reporting to the Head Chef/GM Operations, you will be professional, motivated and work well within a small, close knit team to deliver outstanding  to visitors.

A multi-role, the Housekeeping/Hospitality/Kitchen Porter is responsible to support Management in the presentation and service of all Lodge Guest areas, Front of House and Kitchen areas, with excellent attention to detail, guest service, cleanliness and basic food preparation. 

(With a start date in July until the end of the 2024 season, this position offers  the opportunity to return for the 2025).

you will have

  • High level of passion, enthusiasm and energy for the position and the ethos of the Prairie Hotel  

  • Ability to communicate effectively with and provide excellent service to a wide range of people 

  • Ability to work well within a team environment 

  • Commitment to working and living in a remote environment 

  • Execute responsibilities in a timely and cost-effective manner 

  • Versatility to support and assist other team members in their roles   

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification - understanding of responsible service of alcohol obligations 

  • Experience living and working in hospitality in a remote area and an understanding of restaurant, kitchen, bar, and housekeeping roles would be advantageous
